Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB), was established on March 2, 1959. The present ITB main campus is the site of earlier engineering schools in Indonesia. Although each institution of higher education that started the ITB has the characteristics and missions of each, they left influence on developments leading to the establishment of ITB.
